Universal CDI Tech Tips
The universal CDI is designed to work from either an AC or DC power source. If running the CDI from a battery it's important that the power wire (orange) is switched to avoid discharging the battery when the engine is not running.

Understanding the Diagnostic LED
There are 2 versions of the diagnostic CDI. Version 2 is the standard type with a built in Blue diagnostic LED. Version 4 is the high powered type with built in regulated power boost circuitry to achieve full spark energy right from tick over to full rpm.
Lambretta Universal Loom Wiring Details
There is 2 types of the universal wiring looms. The basic one includes the extra red DC wire. This enables the red wire to be connected to the DC charge output on the regulators that have that output.
